OUR TEAM

Bill joined Allaby & Brewbaker and became an insurance agent in 1983. He completed the Certified Insurance Counselor classes in 1986, earning his CIC designation. He continues to retain his CIC designation with ongoing classes, believing it is important to keep up with the changes in our industry to properly serve our clients.

He has served on several insurance industry boards, and committees. He has also served on Insurance Company advisory councils. He believes in giving back to the community that supports Allaby & Brewbaker, and over the years has served on Church, Hospital, Library & Downtown Business boards. Bill encourages support of the local community, doing business locally when possible and being involved in civic groups and local politics.

When not working, Bill enjoys spending time with his family & friends, boating in the summer and snow skiing in the winter.

Christopher Brewbaker has been with Allaby and Brewbaker since 2007. Christopher earned his associated degree from Lansing Community College in residential design. He is a licensed agent in personal, commercial, farms, life and health, and earned his CIC in 2019. When Christopher is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his family and hunting.

Amy Knickerbocker has been with Allaby & Brewbaker since May of 1997. She previously worked in the Personal Lines Department as a Customer Service Representative. In 2008 she earned her Property & Casualty Agents License and in 2009 her Life and Health License.

A graduate of Lansing Community College, Amy has worked in the insurance field most of her life including some time with an independent claims adjusting firm and an insurance restoration company.

Amy has been a life long resident of the Ovid Elsi area. She raised her family there, and still resides in Ovid with her husband Walt.

In her spare time, she enjoys the Tigers, Lions, and Wolverines. As well as cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandson Warren.

Jaccii Maylee joined Allaby & Brewbaker in 2023 and has earned her Property & Casualty Agents License and Life and Health License. As a graduate from Saginaw Valley State University with a bachelor’s in accounting, Jaccii has worked in the banking industry for most of her life, which led her to the insurance industry. She is very involved with the community, with being a board member of the St Johns Rotary Club and a board member of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). Jaccii graduated from Ithaca High School. Her husband, her, and their dogs reside in Maple Rapids. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with family, camping, riding motorcycles, crafting, and hunting.

Jennifer Brewbaker has been with Allaby & Brewbaker since 1990.  She earned her associate’s degree in business technology from Lansing Community College and her CIC designation from the Risk & Insurance Education Alliance.  She enjoys being outdoors, boating, snow skiing, reading, traveling, and spending time with family & friends.

Her favorite thing to hear from customers how long they have been with our agency and how much they enjoy the relationship they have with us.

Kristie Johnston joined Allaby & Brewbaker in 2014 as a customer service representative in the personal lines department. She started in the insurance customer service field working at Quest Software. Outside of work Kristie enjoys spending time with her family, crafting, kayaking, and spending time up north.

Amy Brewbaker has been with Allaby and Brewbaker since 1999, she earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Northwood University. Amy currently works in the personal lines department and with clients on their policies. Along with that she also assists with accounting, IT and human resources.

Michelle is a commercial lines customer service representative. Michelle started her insurance career working on the company side at Auto-Owners Insurance in 1992. While working at Auto-Owners, she worked in several departments. She started out in the file department, then worked her way into the personal lines field processing auto and home insurance. She also worked in the home office department before making the move over to the agency side. Joining Allaby & Brewbaker Insurance in 1997, she has worked in Personal Lines for years and then moved over to Commercial Lines where she assists clients with their Commercial Insurance needs. In her spare time, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, her dog Hogan, and staying active whether at the gym or in the outdoors.

Traci Kohagen has worked for Allaby & Brewbaker Insurance since 1998. During that time she has worked in our customer service department handling personal lines home and auto. She is currently handling our Commercial Lines and also performs some of our agencies bookkeeping duties. In her spare time, Traci enjoys spending time with her family, and reading.

Tammy Bengel has been with Allaby and Brewbaker since 1995 and manages the claims department. She earned her bachelors degree from Ferris State University in Business Administration.

Brenda Thelen has been employed with Allaby and Brewbaker Insurance since 2007 working in the claims department and at the reception area. She greets our phone-in and walk-in customers, assisting with questions and directing them to one of our staff. She also processes claim payments, files new claims and handles towing questions and bills.

She lives in Clinton County with her husband, she has 4 adult kids, and some fur babies too. When she is not working, she enjoys boating, snowmobiling, spending time cooking and baking, and sewing.

Mary Brewbaker has worked here at Allaby & Brewbaker Insurance since 1993. She works closely with the agents, primarily with farmowners polices, processing, making changes in coverage’s, and helping to keep your policy information up to date. Her duties in the office also include bookkeeping and human resources.

Cynthia Laich joined Allaby & Brewbaker in November of 1992. She processes Personal Lines policies and does our agency’s billing. A graduate of Central Michigan University, she has a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing & Economic. The National Federation of Business was her first employer, then she became a licensed agent as a Regulation Officer in the Insurance Bureau.

After time off to raise her son & daughter, she became a Real Estate agent. She currently sings with the Mint City Singers and The Steiner Choral in East Lansing. She is a military mother, whose son & daughter both graduated from West Point. In her spare time she likes chair yoga, to cook, read & travel.

Alexis Adams has been with Allaby and Brewbaker since 2021. She attended St. Johns High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Services through Colorado State Global. Alexis has been working in customer service field for many years, and currently works as a Customer Service Representative in the Personal Lines department.
